Diabetes Domingo - Victoza, Trulicity, Tanzeum, Bydureon

Some of my favorite diabetes medications are called GLP-1 mimetics.  They help the body respond naturally with it's own insulin when eating food.  They are great at reducing A1C by around 1% and have favorable side effect profiles with the most common side effect being nausea that, in most cases, goes away and can be avoided with proper titration and adjusting eating habits to have smaller portions.  Weight loss of around 6-10 pounds is typically associated with these medications.

These medications come in daily injections: Byetta and Victoza
